The next objective of the 25 in 5 Network has been to create a “Blueprint” based on the Declaration which is supported by many Halton organizations. Several lead partners in the 25 in 5 Network have consulted widely with the other members and have produced this Blueprint for release in early November.

The Blueprint outlines a multi-year program to reduce poverty in Ontario by 25% in five years. It will also propose the public investments required in each year of that program to be successful, including the amount of money that should be allocated for poverty reduction in the 2009 provincial budget, even under current economic constraints.

Public understanding of and support for the Blueprint is a step towards poverty reduction.
