A Town Hall Meeting on the Federal Role in Poverty Reduction (Toronto)

MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2009
Metro Hall, 55 John St., Toronto

6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Refreshments, Room 313
7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Town Hall, Room 308/309

Federal MPs will be in attendance. Bring your ideas. Show your support for federal action to reduce poverty. We particularly want people with lived experience of poverty to be present and to raise heir voice.

We’re glad to announce that we’ve had a great response from people wanting to speak!

If you would like to make a short 2-minute presentation to our community panel please email Liyu Guo at liyugu@familyservicetoronto.org or call 416?595?9230 x.244

We particularly want to hear from community members who will not be speaking to the formal HUMA Hearings on June 1 & 2. We’re also collecting written pieces from those who are willing to share their personal stories and hoping to incorporate it into a Summary Report to be formally presented to MPs of the HUMA Committee on Tues. June 2nd at noon. You can submit written pieces to Liyu Guo at liyugu@familyservicetoronto.org
